This Privacy Policy describes how Sudoku Friend ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
2.1 Advertising Data
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements, including banner ads and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers, usage data, and other information as described in Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
2.2 Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage data and crash reports. This helps us improve app stability and user experience. No personally identifiable information is collected through these services.
2.3 Camera Images
When you choose to create a puzzle from a photo, the app opens your device's camera app and reads the numbers from the picture you take. The image is processed entirely on your device. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party. The image is held only in the app's private temporary storage, is replaced by the next picture you take, and is removed when you uninstall the app. The app does not save the image to your photo library and does not access photos you already have.
2.4 Local Game Data
Your puzzle progress, saved files, and app settings (such as sound preferences) are stored locally on your device. We do not access, collect, or transmit this data to any server.
The app requests the following permissions:
- Internet (INTERNET): Required for displaying advertisements (AdMob) and sending anonymous analytics and crash reports (Firebase).
- Camera (iOS only): Requested only at the moment you choose to create a puzzle from a photo, never at startup. If you do not use that feature, you are never asked for it. On Android the app does not request camera permission at all, because it hands over to your device's own camera app.
- All game data, including puzzle progress and settings, is stored locally on your device.
- We do not maintain any external database of your personal data.
The app integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements.
- Firebase Analytics: For anonymous usage analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics: For crash reporting and app stability monitoring.
- Apple Vision (iOS): For recognising the numbers in a photo. Part of the operating system; the image is processed on your device.
- Google ML Kit Text Recognition (Android): For recognising the numbers in a photo. The recognition model is delivered by Google Play services, and the image is processed on your device rather than being sent to Google.

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We implement appropriate measures to protect your data:
- All game data is stored locally on your device, protected by your device's security.
- We do not transmit personal data to any third-party servers.
- Communication with third-party services uses secure connections.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
